rcubed3r
This spa ran great for quite a few years, but I have been having problems with this spa for a few months. If I set the temperature to 104, the temp will vary from ~102-108. It is normally too high. It seems that whenever the filter/ozonator is running (2hrs x 2 times a day) the heater is also running. I haven't got my meter to the heater at the right time to test my theory, but that is what the spa acts like. Over the last three years, I have replcaed the heater, the control pad, and the two stage pump to repair other issues. I also have to replace the start up capacitor on the two speed motor every 6 months or so. I don't remember that this issue started after replacing any of these parts, but it is possible. Does anyone have any ideas, or any troubleshooting steps that I can take to help figure this out? I love the spa, but never know for sure what the temp is going to be when I want to get in! Thank you, Ron
PreservedSwine
Try lowering the filtration cycles to a minimum- it's likely excess heat generated by the jet pump, and captured by the cover. Where do you live? Is the climate very hot during the day, and not cooling off in the evening? The temp sensors, and electronic thermostat don't typically fail in the way you have described.
