Grandee41
Hi all, I have a hotsprings grandee, i currently have an issue with the wireless sound system. For some reason i do not have volume control showing on the control panel? I can 'play /pause' and change track, this works as i have checked the dock, but i have no sound and no option to turn the volume up??? Any suggestions? The system info is below: Soundcast model-ICR-122G ICast Interface Rev B JBL Marine ( this is what i believe links to the control panel) JBL Interface 11119101 Rev. B I have turned off the power and back on, i have also checked all leads but still the same Any help appreciated

Hot Spring Official
Good afternoon! You didn't mention how old your Grandee is or how recently you had a sound system installed on it. What you have described sounds like a synching issue and this is addressed in the troubleshooting guide that came with the sound system. If you have not already, do call the authorized dealer where you purchased the sound system. If they are not able to resolve the issue they or you can call Watkins' toll-free line, 1-800-999-4688. We'll be glad to help. (Do have your spa serial # and install information handy when you call). Grandee41
The Grandee is about 5 - 6 years old and the sound system was already installed. It seems to 'Sync' with the docking station as it will change track / play / pause, but no volume control or function from the hot tub panel and no sound from speakers? Do you have a link to a guide as I do not seem to have that?
Grandee41
Looking at the Manual online I would say its a 2009 Model http://www.hotspring.com/sites/default/files/hot-spring_spas_owners_manual_2009.pdf
PreservedSwine
Try replacing the I2C interface assy (part number 74291). The only way to know is to have a new amp, as well as the interface on site. I've had each fail in the field, but if we're playing percentages, more i2c interface assembly's than amps. Grandee41
Thanks for the reply, so if one part isn't getting power then this could also be the issue, I see the JBL has two inline fuses?
Grandee41
How much!!! Can it be repaired?
PreservedSwine
I don't recall how many, but you want to check all fuses before throwing around hundred dollar parts-- verify the amp is getting power. Make sure everything is plugged in, particularly what looks like an old "S" cable from the interface to the amp. Two of those tiny pins controls volume- if they're bent, corroded, or damaged, no volume. I'd still bet on the interface just being bad, however, it's something you should check. I believe the i2c interface retails around $150, so you can probably find it for a little less on-line. Try backyard plus
Grandee41
Thanks, I will have a look later, however, at $150 I will listen to the water, or turn up my Bose Dock!!
Grandee41
SOLVED, thanks to all your help, i worked through all cables, fuses, checked power and had no reading to the amp. Then spotted the amp power ''In Power' supply had an 'On' light that was off. Basically the fuse had come out, checked fuse was ok, pushed back in, twisted it in place, light came on and now all working. Thanks again, saved me a call out charge!
