Charingx1 Posted August 20, 2013 Report Share Posted August 20, 2013 I have tried to start my hot tub after a year of not using it. The motor runs then stops after 5/6 seconds. I have taken it apart and one of the bearings is seized. USing pliers etc i managed to get it turning but plugged it in again and the result was the same, runs briefly then trips out. The model is a century pool and spa motor a.o.smith. HP 1.5 220-240v. The problem I am having is that I can't get this motor in the uk. Can anyone help at all with what on earth I can replace it with. It is single speed and the connector is 2x2 inches. Il try post a picture if I can. Their electricity there is DIFFERENT than in the states as it's 50 hz, and in the states it's 60 hz. A motor intended for the states (60 hz.) will run at a lower speed and overheat running on 50 hz.
