Hairline Cracks In Acrylic

I recently picked up a used hot tub for cheap. After the move and install, I ended up replacing the controller/heater and fixing some leaks in hose connections. I got it up and running and two weeks later starting seeing black streaks that I thought were algae. After a couple weeks of battling (supposed) water battles, my son realized that where the spots are there are slight cracks in the acrylic. Now, I assume the black to be either mold, or something that was used to adhere the acrylic.

How should I proceed? Do I need to repair the cracks (drill and route, patch) or just seal them and hope for the best?

Hello - we're experiencing the same thing.  Just wondering if other's replied and if you found a solution.  Thank you.
