Jason Marsh
I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I have a Gecko M-Class controller in my Spa and it has been working 100% perfect until yesterday. After a system flush, new filters & refill I started up the spa and got the water started heating up. After a few hours the water had heated to about 95, then suddenly the topside control went black. I double checked the breaker and GFCI shutoff and they were fine. I tested voltage at the controller and all is good there. I plugged in a different topside controller I have and still nothing. I checked the transformer XFO fuse and it's fine. I tested the transformer and it is fine. The problem I found was that there is no power going to the transformer primary side (5-pin orange connector with 2 wires). Tested the 2 pins leading to the transformer primary wires and got nothing, although I did get 120v on another set of pins, so I know there is power in the board. Is there something else that might be causing this to shut down that I could check before ripping this thing out and replacing it??? ps. testing above was based on the Gecko service manual I found online. It's telling me to replace the board, but I'm hoping there's something FAR less expensive to try first.

Jason Marsh
Well that stinks! The Gecko stuff is too expensive for my taste, so if I replaced the pack I would definitely go with something different. I think I will try having the board repaired by www.spa-boards.com and see if that will save me some cash.
countspacula
check out ACC retrofit kits, or better yet the M7 VS Balboa retrofit kits, both run circles around gekkkyyyooo and cost far less. Careful with ACC, they come with the pump speeds reversed in the pack so pins have to be moved around on the amp style receptacles.
