Mark SC
Are you sure it's not normal? Is it a circulation pump or the main pump? Does the topside controller show a normal readout (no flashing)? I had this happen recently and it turned out to be a bad control board, but in my case the pump was turning on and off every few minutes and the topside was flashing on and off as well. I believe it may be normal. It's getting the current temperature to check on whether the heater is needed. At least, that's the way mine works. I suppose it could be related to the way you have your initial options set, though.
THE SPA GUY
what brand of spa and how old?, typically if you have the 24/7 circ pump it should run all the time, unless very hot outside or direct sun on the control compartment, then you may see the circ pump shut down. If the circ pump is cycling on and off, could be the motor over heating as well.. but if your main jet pump is the circulating system again could be the motor.
