jayson
I'm planning on expanding the pool deck this year. Looking for ideas, so I would be interested in seeing pics and knowing how big of an expansion you built. Also looking for any ideas on the little extras that make your deck functional/more enjoyable: such as a deck storage box that can also be used as a bench or if you incorporated special lighting/sound systems. We installed a wilkes pool last fall. The current deck is 6 feet.
britinusa
Im also going to expand my deck this year, in the plans are a hidden compartment in the deck for my solar cover, which will be a box secured under the deck with drainage slits in it and a hinged trap door in the deck boards to give access, on my existing deck i left one of the posts about 5ft high and drilled and attached wooden pegs for towel hooks. jayson
That's a great idea. We are planning on adding a bench that will double as a storage box. I haven't figured out the sound system yet, but am looking at my options.

matcin2531
I made a deck this year with safety in mind. I have one area that is for deck use like bbq, sitting round table and just enjoying outdoors and it is handrailed with a self closing gate that enters the deck attached to the pool. I can lock the pool deck off and still enjoy a deck. Great for after and before pool is opened in fall and early spring.
