chem geek Posted September 6, 2010 Report Share Posted September 6, 2010 Because Trichlor tabs/pucks are very acidic so lower pH and TA over time. The higher TA causes more carbon dioxide outgassing which would otherwise raise the pH so when Trichlor is used the net result is a more stable pH with a slowly dropping TA over time.
