Louan
This is my eighth season as pool owner of a 16 x 32 inground pool with liner and a sand filter. At the end of last season I bought new sand for the filter. The pool store owner and I determined how much sand I needed and then he threw in an extra bag for good measure. At the beginning of the season my husband replaced the sand but i forgot to tell him not to add the sixth bag so he added all of them. When I told him after the fact he said it should be okay. I used some of the old sand to fill in some of the pavers around the pool and some of the sand from that ended up in the pool, which I vacuumed up and probably didn't get backwashed out, thereby adding to the sand in there. The next time I went to vacuum, the vacuum head got stuck to the bottom. The pool store told me it was the bristles going bad on the vacuum head so I bought a new head but this one is getting stuck too. Could too much sand in the filter cause this? I do have another intake but the valve opens one or the other or closes both. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
