JeffL2
Is there something special about pool plaster? A few years ago I was using plaster to patch a wall, and seem to recall that if I got it wet after it hardened, the plaster patch would soften up again. So I was wondering how pool plaster stays hard.
geeman
You probably used spackle, which will get soft if re-wetted. Plaster is a mixture of cement and aggregate and most often calcium as an accelerator - there is a chemical reaction making it hard. Wetting of plaster only enhances the cure. JeffL2
Thanks geeman. You're are probably right. I did some repair work a few days ago for the first time in a long time, and that is what brought it to mind. I know I used plaster of paris this time (and didn't get it wet afterwards), but almost all the time in the past, I did use spackle, so I probably just got my experiences confused.
