shintao
Hi! I am buying a house with a pool and would like to know what the components are. There is something wrong with the pump, and I will have a pool inspector who will look at it. The pool is drained and looking ugly right now. What is the Grey & Black pots? And I guess the pump & motor, and then the white box. Is the box a timer or just a fuse box? I plan to make a sun cover over the entire unit, since it is plastic materials. Gas heater; Sand Filter; Jandy valve with split return below and to the left; the white box could be a controller or a subpanel, possibly with timer; Jandy valve (suction side) with joined pipes entering main circulation pump (it has a clear lid over the pump basket). Can't tell for sure from the photo but the two pipes adjacent to the downspout may lead to solar panels. 2nd photo: Dirty water -- However, judging from the photo, the deck, coping, tile and plaster look good. AFiremanFirst
I'm not quick to call that a sand filter, could also bd a DE filter, or a cartridge (the black unit) The grey is definately a gas heater. The white box is your controller probably a subpanel for your indoor contoller, you've also got a blower for your hot tub behind the white box. Yes, there are solar panels on the roof feeding down there to the grey gas heater. I didn't notice a gas line, but there maybe one there. Ok, I do apreciate you peoples help and will go do some searching on those components. I don't have the name of the pool builders yet, who may have those exact items and instruction manuals. I would recommend this site have a small list of terms, so newbies like me know what you mean. Like I recognize DE as the earth stuff, but some other shorts I don't. Thank you & I will be around. Pathfinder
The grey one is your heater the gas pipe is right in front of the heater in pic. The Black is either a System 3 Cartridge or D.E. but im inclined to say its a cartridge since there is no backwash line visible in the pic. For manuals go to www.starite.com
poolguyinsc
Looks like a Sta-Rite Cartridge filter with a leaky pressure gauge, a Sta-Rite heater, and a Sta-Rite pump.
