Beachcomber 580

Hello everyone.

I'm new to this forum, and am looking to become a first time hot tub owner.

After much consideration and research, my wife and I have decided to purchase a Beachcomber Hot Tub.

As luck would have it, there just happens to be a 2006 580 in our area, and the asking price is $7200.

I think I can likely get it for about $6500.

It appears from the pics I've seen, to be in excellent condition and we're going to look at it on Friday this week.

The owner is letting us wet test it to see if we like it.

I should note that it has the following options:

8-9 person capacity

Interior color - Pearl Oyster

Cabinet color - ebony

Protec 4Wall Energy system

Hush pump

Reflex Foot Massage

Everlite multi color rotating or fixed

AquaCoustic Surround Sound Stereo - Panasonic MP3 CD Player/Receiver

Lift n' Store cover

Smart Sense Remote Monitor

TM-2 Waterproof Remote Control

The owner said the unit is about $5000 less than a new one, and the extra goodies on this one cost about $2500 at the time.

Soooo, can I get some feedback on this?

Is it a good deal?

Are there any concerns I should be aware of?

I heard the electrical cost of these tubs to be about $10 a month...is this the case with the 2006?

Does it have the ability to upgrade to the UV light package?

Many thanks

$6000-$6500 would be a fair deal. You will probably need a new cover soon ($499) and some some basic things like filter & jet inserts ($200) The operating cost will depend on variety of things budget $10-$20 per month plus water care products. Yes a UV light package can be added.

Good luck. Let us know how everything goes.
