Tub Location

I have two possible locations for a tub (92x92):

1. Outside under a pergola on a gravel pad.

2. Inside a large screened in porch on an existing cement pad (the pad is about 1/4 inch off level away from the house).

On a personal level there are pros and cons for both, but what about that 1/4 inch?

Thanks...

The 1/4 inch won't be bad if the filter area is on the side with lowest point on the pad. We have done this and never had a problem. Also think about air circulation if going in the screened porch. It will make alot of moisture

Actually having a 1/4" drop is going to help you out. If you splash water over the sides it will run away from the house. Secondarily and more importantly, if it were flat and you had a torrential rain your could flood your basement. No matter the situation a reasonable elevation drop is required for surfaces adjacent to your home.

If the equipment is not capable of installation with said elevation drop....you shouldn't have it that close to your house....no matter what it is.
