30 Inches Of Snow

whirlwind

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

This is our first winter with our 27 x 54 foot pool , we winterized it perfectly and everything was fine., till this week we got 30 inches of snow., I have a rule pool pump on top., but naturally everything is covered in the snow., my husband and I are handicapped that is why we got the pool for thereapy. We just cannot get to the pool to remove the snow with it this high.

Our pool cover is on with a cable. Someone told me to loosen it some?

The pool place where we bought it said, there is really not alot we can do , but make sure the pool pump works when the snow starts melting.

Any advice would help.

Thanks

Along with the other pool related problems that you'll face in the coming months from the snow, i suggest that you or someone try your best to get to the drain that is in the cover box, and make sure that the drain (there should be a drain) is clear and ready for water. You don't want to buy a motor for that thing. See, when you get an accumulation of rain/snow on the cover, the weight of "it" pushes down and the water gets displaced and falls over the edge of the cover box and out the drain. You may notice that the water level is a bit lower, when you finally get the cover off.

Make sure that the cover pump is ready (is that the rule pool pump?) as well.

I have the rule pool cover pump. I purchased today a avalanche snow rake., and I got alot of snow off of the top it has a expanding pole so I didn't have to get close. Now questions., what about all the snow that is piled up on the outside of the pool?

Thanks
