pmj Posted January 23, 2010 Report Share Posted January 23, 2010 We have well water. we do not have a water softener. We generally have used Metal X on a new fill. What happens is that 2 days later we will end up with greenish water, and add more metaX and the next day the water is clear with the iron obviously accumulating on the microfilter. We changed the water last week. Did not have metal X and thus bought Bioguard pool magnet plus from the local spa dealer (not our usual spa product dealer, who was located to far away when we needed the product.) Added the PMP . So, now, one week later, the water remains clear, no evidence of metals out (never got green)..not even after 3 doses of dichlor. Microfilter is white. The hardness reads 50 on the test strip. The PMP is quite concentrated and we did add the recommended dose. can anyone tell me why such a difference in results with the bioguard vs metal x??
