Granular Bromine? Please Help

There really is no granular bromine for hot tubs.

There are such things as calcium hypobromite and lithium hypobromite, but they are not sold for spa use.

Granular bromine is sodium bromide salt. It has to be activated by an oxidizer, such as sodium hypochlorite, sodium dichlor, lithium hypochlorite or MPS.

Some products that call themselves "Granular Bromine" are a combination of sodium bromide and an oxidizer (usually sodium dichlor).

You should establish a bromide bank of 30 ppm to 50 ppm by adding sodium bromide salt.

Then you should regularly add an oxidizer, such as sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine or regular, unscented 6 % Clorox bleach), or MPS sufficient to maintain the correct bromine level.

You could use a bromine floater to help supply a consistent bromine level.
