Fry Man
I am new to hot tubs and have been following the discussions in this forum on water chemistry. Following the advice of most people I have purchased the Taylor 2006 kit and have found the water control to be straight forward. I would like to add some Borates to my tub as per the different recommendations but the Taylor kit does not have a test for Borates. Can you tell me how this chemical is measured? mcw53
I use the LaMotte Borate Test Strips. You can find them online for about $10 plus shipping.
quantumchromodynamics
You can use the pool calculator to calculate the correct amount of either Borax or boric acid to use for your tub and the desired increase.

I also use the pool calculator but am looking for a way to measure the actual level of Borates before making other adjustments.
