Sundance 680 Staying Hot

Question so I have this new Sundance Hartford and my 1.5 y/o daughter is still a tad uncomfortable with the 100 degree water. So I figured I would lower the temp to say 90 degrees. I know I could take the cover off but I would rather not have leafs in the spa. What is odd is it really hasnt gone down below 100 all day (changed the temp this morning). So is it really normal to have the spa stay the same temp over 10 hours with no heater? Or is the heater coming on during the regular 4 times a day running regardless of my set temp?

With a well insulated tub, this is normal.

You can prop the cover open with a tennis ball.

Or drain a couple of inches of water out and top with tap water.

I have a 2009 Hawthorne 680 which has the same guts as the Hartford. As far as I'm aware your heater will kick-in during the 4 filtration cycles per day, but ONLY if the water temperature falls below 90. Like the other post said if you leave the cover on the temperature will go down VERY slowly as it's a well insulated tub. Best way to get the temp down quickly is to take the cover off and use a net/mesh to catch any leaves.
