wiltoncarpet
I've had our 250 Gal tub for a month now and up until last week, I was doing quite well getting used to the chemicals - the water was clear and everything was good. However, over the last week I've noticed that I'm not getting any measurement for Chlorine on the Leisure Time PH strips. I've put in the suggested amount after each use but I'm still not getting any chlorine showing. I was worried there was simply too much chlorine so I turned on the jets with the cover off for an hour, then waited 2 days before re-measuring - still nothing! I put in about half an ounce into the tub but there was still no measurement but we could definitely smell the chlorine. I've tried a different set of strips from another manufacturer but I still get the same results. I've shocked the tub and balanced everything else and the alkaline, ph etc are all fine. What am I doing wrong?

What am I doing wrong? My guess is that your chlorine demand is higher then you think. I would add a teaspoon every fifteen minutes or so with the circ pump running until FC shows.... it will. You aren't giving enough specific information for the gurus herein to accurately pinpoint the problem, but I'll guess you have not been using enough sanitizer from the onset. If you are only using test strips everyone in this forum will tell you to get an accurate test kit. Without that information and bath loads, it is harder to diagnose any issue. wiltoncarpet
Thanks for the tip and the advice on the level of detail for the forum gurus. After I posted my question I read some of the other threads and realized that there are some serious experts in here! I'll try what you suggest and see what happens. Thanks again.
