Caldera Tahitian Diverter ? - How Does It Screw Back In?

First let me say that after 3 soaks in the new Tahitian this tub is awesome! It works flawlessly, great flexibility in controlling the flow and pressure, the lights are very relaxing...I love everything about it so far. As for the lights, they are standard in the Caldera Utopian series, but if you have the option in whatever brand you choose then I suggest getting them. For the small cost it's worth it as they add so much ambience, IMO. I know that others think they are useless but I can't imagine not having them.

Anyway, there is a diverter or control for the neck jets in the EcstaSeat and I turned it too far and it came unscrewed. I can't seem to get it back on. There is a valve or nipple looking thing that screws onto the cap in a counter-clockwise direction. Then you can push the cap into the hole and then the cap screws onto some threads in a clock-wise direction. Well I can't get it to screw on. Is there a trick to it? Here's a pic of the control I'm talking about.

Some more picks of the set-up and view. Still some construction mess around.

Rob,

I have a Geneva and had a similar problem. Although since I have no memory I can't recall the trick my dealer showed me to fix this, even though I can clearly recall watching him show me on a floor model after he came out and fixed mine. Mine was just leaking water, didn't actually come off.

If nobody responds by tomorrow, I'll post the trick. It's simple, but I just can't remember exactly what it was he did.

Seems like you have to torque the thing down with something like a big pair of channel locks (yeah scary I know, I remember being nervous just watching it). Seems like he gave it a little pop, enough to make it tight, but not enough to mar the plastic (he used a rag around the knob). You need to make it tight enough that when you twist it you are operating the compression "valve" rather than unthreading the handle. Which is what happened to you.

I build Power Plants not Hot Tubs therefore I have no business commenting on Hot Tub repair.

Your absolutly right Watt-ly.

Seems to me I had to wrap a rag around a steam turbin seat and give it just a little tap once before the power plant would come back on line

Yep, piece of tissue paper to prevent scratches and a nudge from a Gradeall, she'll be online in no time.
