globitron
I am moving into a new home, and have a space dedicated for a hot tub on my roof deck. I am limited to 2800 pounds wet, so looking for the most bang for lbs. I have been doing quite a bit of research, and believe I have it broken down to the following spas: Marquis Mirage (Formerly known as 520M) - http://www.marquisspas.com/spa_mirage.asp D1 Seville - http://d1spas.com/spa_selector.asp?spa=62 Artesian Saba - http://www.artesianspas.com/showroom/island/saba.asp Beachcomber 530 - http://www.beachcomberhottubs.com/ht_530.cfm I was curious to know if anyone had any experience with any of these spas, or would recommend one brand over the other. I am in the Chicago area and have a D1 dealer is 45 minutes, Marquis is hour and a half, Artesian 30 mins, Beachcomber is an hour - not sure how much this should play into the situation. Also, how much should I expect the price of the spa to drop when negotiating?
IL Parrothead
Globitron, I live in Chicagoland too. D1 is 2 miles from my house and Marquis is up in Crystal Lake -- 45 miles from me. That dealer up there is not new to Marquis. He's been selling them a while. I took the drive up there to wet test. Marquis makes a nice tub. I'm not familiar with pricing on Mirage vs Seville, but I looked at the Epic. I personally liked it better than the D1 tubs. But you really should drive up there and test your tub. The guy there (Tony) would more than likely fill whataver tub he has on the floor that you want to look at. Mike

I spoke with Tony a couple weeks ago - he was very helpful - I would like to go up there and check out the Mirage, but I am downtown, and it will be an hour and a half trek up that direction. I will most likely go wet test - probably the only way to make an accurate determination. I appreciate the reply. Andy
IL Parrothead
You know what else, Andy? If you go up to Marquis, I know Hot Spring (and maybe one or two other brands) have stores in Crystal Lake. You might be able to get back-to-back tests done that same day. I've done that -- tested 2 or 3 makes in the same store or an hour apart. It's a great way to see what you really like.
adudinsk
consider that if you get a D1 tub with the Alpine white UltraLife shell.. its NOT fiberglass and acrylic.. So its warrantied for life against blistering/leaks/everything!!! No other tub that I have seen has such a warranty..; (although this is ONLY on the one color)
