  1. I have a 2007 amore bay (maybe 2008.. not sure) I am getting a Stuck Key (#7) error message... I emailed D1, typically since there is NO dealer left in my city, service was none existant (they do send me parts though.. and i swap them myself .. prob do a better job then some of the dealers would) Any resolve to your problem? What key was stuck? Did it give you a number? ALl mine seem to work just fine.. no probs.. I am wondering if its the Mag Switches(board) Regards ANdrew
  2. Actually the MSDS says it contains NAME CAS RN % Hydrogen peroxide 7722-84-1 10-30 Peracetic acid 79-21-0 1-10 Acetic acid solution 4-10% None 1-10 Surfactant unspecified 1 Water 7732-18-5 >60 Hmm.. Hydrogen Peroxide.. Vinegar.. and a chemical in the organic peroxide family.. highly corrosive and with strong oxidizing potential. Peracetic Acid is an ideal antimicrobial. Sounds good.. but will it do any damage to a fiberglass or gelloy tub??
  3. Oh.. lastly check combined chlorine.. and to Burn it out.. raise your free chlorine to 10x that of the combined. (so if 2ppm Combined Chlorine.. you dose just over 20ppm.. wait... till it drops to a reasonable level to swim in.. ) (taylor Test kits will test for Combined Chlorine and free chlorine.) This will then show the correct reading on the Dip Stick test strips.. and rid you of much of the chlorine smell. You may not have enough Chlorine in the tub.. thats FREE.. and are reading a higher amount due to the level of combined.
  4. I find that wiht the Vision Cart, and Dicholor I VERY quickly loose Chlorine.. I add about .4oz of dichloro a day.. or the chlorine willl 0 out. I switched to Lithium based Chlorine.. and it is more $$ but lasts MUCH longer in the tub.. and I no longer get the plaque. Over all its about the same cost.. when you figure your not adding every day. NOt sure its its the Vision.. or ozone.. or what.. If I get this.. bring your chlorine up to 10ppm.. for 1 dose..and use a deflocking agent for paper filters. It will clear in a few hours.. mop up the rest.. and away you go (rinse filters after 12hs) Also when not in use.. I idle the tub at about 85'f.. that helps lots too..
  5. Actually the dealer is about 20 miles away... I called Cal Spa... in california, they said that yeah.. the dealer can charge for that they dont police it,.. nor do the police the actual charge/amount. I will look in the warranty.. to see if it says that.. though.. What are they thinking.. your going to bring the spa to them??? and yes.. they do say the dealer can charge reasonable charges for travel time ... Nuts..
  6. I have a friend that has a high end Cal Spa. thats 3yrs old.. the GE heater that has a lifetime warranty.. died. They still have 2yrs left on parts and labour they called the dealer.. he said no problem.. but $150 for them to come out.. Labour ONCE THERE is free.. and parts are free.. ?? Is this right.. can they charge for the service call while fully under warranty?? Is anyone else having to pay that... and if so.. is $150 normal.. or high.. or low?? Thanks
  7. The aqua tremour is nothing more then an amplifier and a Clark Synthesis transducer. The come in 3 grades.. silver.. gold.. platinum.. and sell for $80-250 for the transducer.. (3 strengths) THen they amp it the gold I have in my home theater uses 650watts....the platinum grade transducer can handle way more.. this just vibrates like a sub woofer.. but is designed to shake things... your chair.. etc. They feed in various "tones and tone patterns" that are supposed to relax you etc.. Based on how my home theater system tore my sofa frame apart.. I would not want to vibrate the heck out of my tub shell.. Now.. I would not be surprized if you could buy your own.. and install it yourself with ease.. and be identical.. (save for the brand of amp )
  8. I poured a 9'x10' pad... 6" thick, 3500psi with fiberglass reinforced concrete, and also the 4" wire mesh/rebar. Cost was $220 for the concrete, abouto $40 for the wire, and pizza and beer for the buddies helping install it. I floated it on the existing cement patio (6" already) with a plastic barrier, thus if it shifts, it will shift on a flat plane. Sealed the edge with a bead of silicone to prevent any water getting under and shifting it. Makes for easy removal, and a solid base.
  9. I have an AMore Bay, the seats are all different depths. I am 6'2" , and about 225lbs, and love the deep seat (the one without the massage controller). I sit about upto my adams apple deep. The other seat is fine too.. but typically used by my girlfriend. I decided on it due to the lifetime warranty (non-prorated) on the UltraLife shell color.. and because of the bench seat (commonly called the "play ground"). I have had relatives with MANY kids in the tub, and the bench is perfect to pile a bunch of "smaller people" into it. ONe thing I do like it to lie out with my head on the waterfall.. and feet/legs stretched straight out.. ie: floating on my back. Its a large tub, and very open in design. I just love it. (all the kids say "Oh.. you bought a swimming pool..")
  10. I own an amore bay.. I just love it.. everyone thats been in it, including people owning other "high end" tubs were very impressed at its power, construction detail, and the solid feel. A few people even are planning on flipping their older tubs to get a D1. Lastly, the UltraLife shell (white only) has a LIFETIME, non-prorated warranty.. its not fiberglass, (GE Geloy) and will never delaminate. Also the white color REALLY makes the lighting effective. You should be in the $11k-$13k range for this tub in USA.. $18k-$20k in Canada
  11. The D1 Amore Bay jets are all recessed into the tub, and are all flush. The tub also has a fantastic quality molding process, resulting in exquisite detail, and a textured non-slip floor, complete with.. err.. accupressure "bumps" Anyway.. the shell is stunning
  12. The tub is very nice .. I love the huge layout, and the quality of the shell (lifetime warranty against everything IF you get the UltraLife White). With no stereo, expect to pay $12k +/- For a demo one.. maybe $1k or $2k less... But it is a VERY VERY solid tub... What sold me was the shell warranty for the white geloy shell, and the fantastic mold quality of the shell. Has lots of power, and great seating. Holds 7 adults no problem, and no "play'n footsie" You can change the fountain heads for different effects, and more lighting around the outside (although I dont think it really needs it) Uses your PalmPilot to "talk" to the tub and program it.. and check status of all inputs and outputs. (way way cool) and I think its the only (or at least one of the few) tubs with UV light to purify the water (I use chlorine/UV/Ozone and mineral) Everyone that has been over (even people with other high end tubs) have been impressed.
  13. As promised.. here are a few pictures of the tub, with optional flame fountain installed (for other memeber who was wondering) http://home.cogeco.ca/~blockrobotics/html/...es/Tub/tub1.JPG http://home.cogeco.ca/~blockrobotics/html/...es/Tub/tub2.JPG http://home.cogeco.ca/~blockrobotics/html/...b/FOUNTAIN2.JPG http://home.cogeco.ca/~blockrobotics/html/...b/FOUNTAIN3.JPG Love the tub.. just huge, lots of room to spread out.. and lots of mood lighting.

  15. I have had 3 friends that delaminated, one within 2 years..so I am a bit paranoid.. at least on a spa of that price. Also if you look at the Amore's detail in the shell.. its FANTASTIC. A very detailed moulding of the Geloy. Very very detailed.. most spas cannot even come close. (that to me.. indicates very high quality to get this level of detail )
