  1. Hello all, We have a fiberglass swimming pool in our home, which was constructed 3 years ago. I used to maintain my pool regularly. But last month I had to go out of state to attend a meeting and my wife went to see her sick mom. So our pool was left unattended for an extended period. Last week we returned home and noticed that our pool had algae formation and each day it is getting worse. We tried brushing the pool on the first day, but it didn't help us. How shall we get rid of this algae?? Our pool is turning green and it is really awkward. I found few tips online to get rid of algae in the pool. It says to use Algaecides to get rid of pool algae. Which is the best Algaecide that I can use in my fiberglass pool? We'll be also trying to shock the pool today. If anyone here knows any other technique which is very effective in getting rid of green algae, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  2. I agree with you Rollie.. Swimming is really a great energy booster. I do agree that safety precautions has to be taken before diving into the pool. 3 months I dived into a pool in a restaurant which we stayed. It just dried out my skin and hair. I understood that I should it is not advisable to dive into pools in restaurants and other public places.
  3. Hi Charlotte, You can upgrade your backyard pool instead of completely renovating it. You can add an outdoor kitchen with fancy appliances. Else you can upgrade the pebble or stone surface in your pool. To give your pool a totally new look, the fastest and affordable option is to add LEDs to your pool. LEDs which can change color from basic red, white and blue can surely make your pool look great. There are many such ideas that can help you in upgrading your pool without actually renovating it. Hope you'll find this useful.
