  1. Most people leave them open year round in the south. Tearing out the floor of a concrete pool is a bad idea. You should pretty much need to demo the whole pool and start over. A liner pool could be modified much easier and far less expensively.
  2. . I have a customer who did this to an outdoor pool and after a few failed attempts was able to house gold fish and a few koi. The plaster may leach high ph alkaline back into the water, that will raise the ph . We painted the plaster and it stopped having so many ph raises. He also needed to install a wet dry pond filter. On a indoor pool I think you may end up with an indoor swamp if not careful.
  3. I gleamed this from there site.....l The Badu® SwimJet Systems from Speck Pumps are designed for installation during the construction of your pool to create a water treadmill for anyone wanting therapeutic and effective exercise. The Badu® SwimJet Systems can be installed in any type pool, large or small, from gunite to vinyl liner. It has no protruding parts ensuring pool user's safety, is very compact and installs at minimal cost. The self-contained, flush-mounted unit is a jet-propulsion system that pumps water into the pool creating a current in excess of 5,000 gallons per minute from a single recessed jet housing. Topping off the experience is the pulsating massage hose which can be attached to the jet nozzles for easy and convenient massage treatments for
  4. I see the ts5L fail all the time, though it normal is in older pool systems, I haven't seen very many on pools still in pentairs warranty fail. Maybe 4 in the last 3 years and one of those was on an ez touch. The older model intellitouch and cp units seem to need the sensors replaced every couple of years. I would say it is is the weakest link in there controllers.
  5. Where do you live? Looks like your pool could use some shock......
  6. I want to build my own swim spa, does anyone have any insight on a jet design that I could swim against. I was thinking of installing 2 1/2" pipe with split main drain suction and running 2 jandy HP 2.5 hp pumps in parallel. Then return the water though waterway old faithful 2" gunite jets. Does anyone have any experience with a custom swim jet set up? What kind of flow do I need to swim against ? Badu boasts a 5,000 gallon a minute flow rate?..is that right?
  7. I am going to use a badu jet as I found the flow rate is the highest. Does anyone have any experience with this model?
