  1. Court records are available as a matter of public record in all the counties surrounding you. I have persoally seen close to 100 lawsuits & filings over the last 10yrs. or so. If you have a lawyer, he can check things out for you. They also have several corporate identities, so your lawyer needs to know that too. Principals of the company now live in N. carolina & Florida. They have been trying to sell the companies in MI. for over a year. Sounds like they would abandon ship if they could. Again, other pool contractors likely will be able to provide the customers you really need to speak with to make an informed selection of pool co.
  2. By other guys, you mean Viking?? Yes, that's "The other guys" !!!
  3. Check local court records in the counties surrounding you. You will be glad you did!! Speak with other local pool builders, they likely will have the names of more than a few of Midwest past clients that wish they had ask the same questions that you have. G'luck & happy swimming soon!!! CSI
  4. I urge you to contact Sun Fiberglass Pools in Brooksville or Blue Hawaiian Pools in Largo. Stay as far away from those other guys as you can. I don't work for or with any of them. My only interest is helping to maintain the reputation of the industry. G'luck & happy swimming [soon],CSI
  5. The pool should NOT be plastered as long as the shell is weeping. The plaster will stain shortly after it is put on. Likely you will have to replaster to rid of the stains in the near future or live with a cheesy looking plaster job. It is common for gunite shells to "weep" in locales where the water table is high due to excessive rain or naturally high water tables. I suggest that you wait in spite of your urge to complete the project. If the builder insist on plastering, take before & after pics showing where the weeping occurred. Get the builder to put in writing that if the stains do occur in the plaster, he will replaster the pool for you in short order. Happy swimming {soon]!! CSI
  6. I strongly suggest that you have a pool leak detection performed by a specialist. You can spend a whole lot of time, money, & stress out trying to find the exact location of the leak or leaks otherwise. This type of test typically will cost between $300-$400 in most areas of the USA. They will also get into the pool to ck for leaks around the interior fittings & skimmer throat. Save the frustration & have this proceedure performed to isolate the location of the problems. Good luck & happy swimming!!
