  1. lcd screan turns dark

  2. I have a H.S Jettsetter 2010, bought new in nov 2009. I love this spa. Its helps my back big time. Its just me and my wife using the spa, mostly me, 4-5 times week. I paid 5900.00 plus tax, with the usual, steps, cover,tri-x filters, delivery, etc. Best money I ever spent. I have not had any problems. I use the dichlor/bleach method. Sounds like the price went up, probably can get the price down some, work a deal.
  3. Water quality, no. I seems like the bleach lasts longer now with the larger bubbles(but im always clean when getting in spa). I will get it looked at, hope the dealer is cool, as this is the first repair call. Will post back when all is done. Thanks all for the info. Rick
  4. Also the nipple is still ok on FW111, its looks like there is a piece in the yellow tube and in the nipple of the fw111, it looks like some kind of wadding. I wounder if it ever worked!
  5. What im asking here is does it even need fixing FW111, I use the chlorine/bleach method? That away when they come to fix motto massage, I know weather to fix the freshwater 111, ozone system. Ive always heard the ozone system eats up the chlorine I put in, faster. I haven't used the stick in filter in last two fill-ups, just seemed like a waste with chlorine/bleach method. My filters are clean, just did a refill 2 weeks ago and im the only person in spa, 4 times week, 10 min and take a shower first.
  6. Well I took off the door to see inside(I do this once a year). The freshwater 111 looks to have a hose broke off of it. At the bottom on fresswater 111 unit, it has two nipples coming off of it. The one on right has nothing hooked to it, the nipple on left, looks like the hose(yellow hose) was broke off. The end of tube looks like it has wading in it and so does the nipple. There is no water leaking or hiss sound of air. Could this be the problem? On back side of freshwater 111 unit, is a yellow hose that is hooked up. Could this be the problem on the moto massage being slow er and not moving most of the time. I have never touched anything in the compartment, just look each year to make sure everything is dry and no pests, which it is dry and very clean. Its still under warranty, just 4 years old. The fresh water 111 and ozone deal isent a big deal, as I use the chlorine/bleach method. Most of the ozone bubbles are small, just maybe 1/3 are bigger. I would like the moto massage to work right, it use to work fast or slow and know its just super slow or stopped, water flow is way slower than it used to be. The diverer valve is open for full power to the moto seat. Thanks, Rick
  7. Hello, My Jetsetter is 4 years old and I am wondering about the ozone and 24/7 filtering. The bubbles are really big now, not the little small one like when new, but there is alot of them. I still smell the sweet smell when opening the cover. I use the chlorine/bleach method. I dont use the nature sticks anymore, just leave the hole empty where they go in filter. The tri/x filters are new, just cleaned one time a week ago at refill. I have released the air bubbles at all three filters, always happens after water change. Ozone is original to spa. Any ideas on the big bubbles and if its a bad thing. Also the massage is very slow now and I usually have to start by moving flapper with fingers to start and it usually will stop, does same thing with 24/7 filter out. Do I need to check this with all filter out? Like I said they are new filters. Any info would be great, Thanks, Rick
  8. You need 5oz of 6% bleach for a 485 gal tub. That will take it from a 0ppm to a 5ppm. Bleach is the best methoud I have used, One gallon jug lasts me 2 months at 2.50 a gal, I have a 235 gal spa. I have a ozonztor and dont used the nature 2 stick anymore. I do use borates and numbers never move but im usually only one in spa daily. Your cya is probley very high useing dichlor and that will make you use alot of bleach, you want it between 20 and 30.

Use google, your find what you want.. Looks like you stole that tub, very good price. Rick
  10. Hello, I have a Hotsprings Jetsetter spa and love it. Its 3 years old with no problems. I had it hooked up with 220 volts so the jets and pumps will run at same time if needed. I could care less about the water fall and have a wireless speaker system hooked to my MP3, works great, but hardley ever use it, just like the peace and quiet. WE are 55 (5-11 ht ) and 52 (5-6 ht )years old. I have 5 grown kids also, but they have only used it 1 or 2 times. I made them shower first before intering and they just dident seem to care for it.. I love the lounger with moto-massage, This spa iis very low cost to run. I use the dichlor then bleach method, with a gallon of bleach lasting 6-7 weeks at 2.50 a gallon jug, only uses 3oz a day. I paided 5800.00 us plus tax for spa (2010 model), came with chem-steps-cover lifter, install, and tri-x filters, which you just clean and resuse. I did have to buy electrical box from Hotspring dealer for install, becouse I went 220 volts. The Hotsprings Vanguard is a great spa, almost got one, just was more money and expance and really did not need the bigger tub. The Jetsetter is a great spa for two people. I use spa everyday, helps with back pain, wife uses it 2-3 times week with me. Its one of the better things Ive bought in my life, upfront costs low and cheap to run. Make sure you get a Taylor water test kit and read posts in here on diclor/bleach method. Seams hard at first, but is really easy when you read/pratice balancing your water. I live in Virginia, get all four seasons. Hope this helps you, Rick
  11. Hello, I would thick twice before buying anything other than top brand spas. Maybe if it was a used running spa filled and in workong order and under one thousand on big name and under five hundres for a small company and that is if, I already had a power hook up. If I found any spa with a f rating I wouldent even consider it. Do big name spas have problems, yes, but they have a big warrinty and most big named dealers that are still around usually have great service. I have found that if you speak to the dealer has a person, like you would want to be treated, it goes along ways to getting anything done. I have a 2010 Hotsprings jetsetter with no issues(bought new in 2009). I wanted a smaller spa for back pain and it was my best spa for the long haul. It cost more than two other small named spas I was looking at, but you do get what you pay for in a spa. The company I bought from had one complant at BBB that was years old and they sell tons of spas and are still around , with four companys long gone here in Va. Rick
  12. I have a 2010 Jetsetter and love it. The moto massage is great for my lower back pain. Very cheap to run and I keep it at 104, it is hooked up to 220 volt. I will tell you this, if it states 3-4 people, well the jetsetter is only comphy with two, three would be very tight and you would lose alot of water going over sides, then be low when just one using. Its great for me, its just me and my wife, no partys here, lol. Skip the salt generator and use the diclor/ bleach method, very easy to do and is very easy on the wallet. Hope this helps you and wet test. Rick
  13. Just leave the filters out, im sure it makes the water flow faster threw the jets. After the 20 min running the jets cut off the spa, and it will just stay idel and then drain and clean (24hrs ). I left the drain plugs out while cleaning the spa after dumping the flush chems, rinced real good, then did the refill and shock to 50ppm with bleach 6% and dump water again after 20min, refill and was good to go. If I were you, I would put new filters in after final fill anyways. I did this after 2 1/2 years of running and was using a little to much bleach. Rick
  14. If I were you, I would use the dichlor/bleach method and be done with it. Also use the borcic acid and you numbers will not change much, if at all. This method is very cheap to use and easy for the wife to do. My spa only uses 3oz a day bleach with just me using 1 time a day, but is only 235 gal, Hotsprings Jetsetter. Hope this helps, Rick
  15. I dident flush my hotsprings spa intill last week and its has been running for 2 and half years. I just drain and fill (4 MONTHS) and all has been fine. The only reason I flushed it this time was becouse it has never been done and was useing twice the clorine bleach as normal, all is fine again. I would say if its doing fine dont flush the spa just do a refill, The flushing when you get the new spa is to remove any by-products from mafactoring and maybe the water sat in pipes from testing. Mine was fine so I dident do that step. fLUSHING THE SPA WAS EASY, JUST TIME AND WATER, i ALSO GOT A PUMP TO DRAIN THE SPA WENT VERY FAST. rICK
  16. Hello, just A little tip. You should keep your test kit and all chemicals in side house. The dont like too hot or too cold. Rick
  17. I have a 2010 Jetsetter and love it. Mine is wired 220 and never gets cold, dont no about the 110 volts and hove it preforms. The spa is very cheep to run, I use the diclore/bleach method with boric acid and is very stable and cheap to run. It looks like the spa you are looking at is in great shape. Make shure to see it run and check pumps, temps etc. Hotsprings makes a great spa, im glad I got one. One thousand is a veery good price if all is working. You will need its own decitaded outlet, nothing else can be on same line, so if you have to run one might think about going 220, will need the box from hotsprings, but the spa will always be hot, becouse the pumps and heater can run at same time, will not with 110. I get in mine every day and helps big time with back pain. The spa is only big enough for 2 people unless you want your legs up in your face, not to mentiin the water will be going over the sides, but is alsome for 2 people, couse its so cheep to run. Hope this helps, Rick
  18. I have a Hotsprings Jetsetter that I use for back pain and it works great. The lounger with moto massage is really helpful for my back. Use daily and the spa has been flawless. Bought new, two years ago, its a 2010 model. Its great for me and my wife, but three people would be small. Hotsprings make a great spa, I have it hooked up to 220 volt and it stays nice and hot in winter, with 25 min use, never really stay longer than that. The spa is very easy to maintain, I use the dichlor/bleach method. It is super quiet, is a 24/7 filtration system, you cant even hear it, with the pump/jets on, it sill pretty quiet, cant hear it in the house and its 6 feet from bedroom window. Check them out. Rick
  19. I have a 2010 Jetsetter and love it, its just me and my wife. Really only comfortable with 2 people.
  20. I get boric acid at Rite Aid, comes in 8oz bottles. I like boric acid the best because it dosent move the ta or ph at all.
  21. I have a spa also for back pain (2 years). I use the spa 1 to 2 times a day and I almost never have the nerve in lower back shoot pain down my right leg anymore. The doctors tried pills and excersize and that just made it worse. My lower back just gets real tight and the spa loosens it up, im 55. Been a real blessing to help me. Also he said Benny Hinn, not Benny Hill, lol.
  22. We have a 2010 Hotsprings Jetsetter and love it.. I have a bad back and the spa helps with pain and stiffness big time. Its a great spa for 2 people, will fit three but is tight on leg room, but perfect for me and the wife. The spa is very cheep to run here in Va, just 15 to 25 dollars month. I haven't had any problems so far, two years old next month.. One of the best products Ive ever bought. Rick
  23. Sorry for posting here but no response in pool section in 30 days. I am posting for friend of mine, Have some sanitizer questions, but first, I own a Hotsprings 2010 spa and use the dichlor/bleach method and works great, use a Taylor TF-100 test kit and understand it well. Here is some pool info. The pool was set up and filled 5 days ago. salt added and that's it. Salt level is 3600ppm. No other products were added then and its numbers are as follows, tested today (5 days later) Above ground vinyl pool, 4550 gal, salt generator FC 0 Will add in morning, shocking to 10 ppm. Its a powder shock in a 1/lb bag, will use half now 4 PH 7.6 now 7.6 TA 80 now 80 CH 140 Raised it to 240ppm today (3 o/clock pm) using pool calculator now 240 CYA O Raised to 40ppm today at (8 o/clock pm) "" "" "" will check numbers again in 1 week to make sure its 40ppm now40 SALT 3600 Salt added 5 days ago pool manual calls for 3000/3500 BORATE 0 now o Water temp was 83 deg, in sunny spot most of day. Im guessing the generator was not keeping up, with no cya or help with added chlorine as to to zero FC. People have been swimming in it till yesterday when I brought over the test kit and I read some of the manual. Here are some questions. 1. What's the least costly way to shock pool, I use Clorox reg 6% in spa, would that be a good choice I don't want to use something and change the numbers back and fourth, if at all possible. 2. Is borates really needed with the salt generator? It would need alot of borax and muric acid.. I use boric acid in my spa and it keeps numbers very stable. 3. Is the TF-100 Taylor test kit the best for the salt water pool? No salt test in it. Best place to buy. Sorry so long, just wanted to give all the info. Thanks, Rick
  24. Any info on this would be great, Thanks, Rick
