  1. Master spas is in the news... http://www.abcactionnews.com/mediacenter/l...d=3&rss=823
  2. I agree with Grayce, I much preferred the Jacuzzi jets (especially the RX jets). Jacuzzi dealer is much better here too (IMO). I love my new Jacuzzi! but lots of people love their Arctic's too. Try them out....it's a personal choice.
  3. My first tub had a lounger, I hated it. It's certainly a personal thing. My new tub (Jacuzzi 470) has four awesome corner seats which lean back similar to a lounger and lots of room to stretch out. It's early (just installed yesterday) but so far I LOVE this tub!
  4. When I was shopping, I much preferred the jet action of the Jacuzzi over the Bullfrog. Jet packs seemed very gimmicky to me. But that's a personal opinion, not saying they don't work or aren't reliable. In my area, the Jacuzzi dealer is well known for offering great service. Consider which dealer will look after you better. Good luck.
  5. Don't forget....dissatisfied customers are far more likely to get on the forums and vent their frustrations online. I do expect there are many satisfied Tatum tub owners out there, but you won't hear from them because they're satisfied.... Like everyone else has said, if you sell this, then buy a "new" tub (whatever brand) you're buying warranty. And it will cost you several thousand dollars to move up. I would say stay POSITIVE about it.......you won a free hot tub! Set it up and use it !!!
  6. A friend of mine recently ordered a new cover from www.Costco.ca Simple to measure & submit online. Cover was shipped directly to his house (rural manitoba) no problems. He's happy. Price was $349.99 delivered. http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Productgroup.a...rtial&Nty=1
  7. Congrats! I've seen that your color combination in a showroom, it looks really great! Post some pictures when you get set up!
  8. Very well said Wannago, hopefully we have better luck with our new Jacuzzi's!!
  9. I agree with ps558 ...I've used Spa Purge it's very good, not nasty side-effects.
  10. Hi there, I'm in Winnipeg, Mb..... I can relate your winter weather! I'm just replacing a 14 year old Sunrise spa with a new Jacuzzi. All the major brands do a fairly good job with insulation. My Sunrise spa is full foam. The new Sunrise are now perimeter insulation and steel frames. There's been countless discussion on this forum about which insulating method is better, do a search and read about it. Bottom line, shop around and find a dealer you're comfortable with, find a tub your comfortable with at a price you can afford. FWIW, I know that jet replacement on a full foam tub is not as hard as it seems...a good technicians can do it very quickly.
  11. Congrats on a great tub! Post some pictures when you're done.
  12. I think you really need to wet test them. That will make the decision easy for you. The seating is very different. Personally, I didn't like how formed the Arctic seats were. The Jacuzzi 470 seating is much more open. To each there own I guess. I wasn't at all impressed with my Arctic dealer visit. Nice enough people, but when their floor model foams like crazy and the water stinks.......that's a turn off for me. I decided on a J470 and should have it installed in a few weeks; so I can't contribute as an experienced user yet but I too am replacing a 14 year old spa.... they've changed a bit since we bought our first one.
  13. Don't believe that statement from the Coast dealer, it's simply not true. Jacuzzi's been building spas for over 50 years and Sundance over 30 years. They wouldn't be in business if their product didn't stand the test of time. They sell hot tubs worldwide, in every climate, yes even worse than Canada's. Jacuzzi is becoming the dominant premium line in Manitoba because of very strong, customer oriented dealer. I have 5 friends with Jacuzzi spas, (I just bought my first) and they've been through several winters with no problems. The oldest one is about 8 years old, and looks just like new. You'll be fine with Jacuzzi or any of the major brands. Try them out and see which model feels the best, comfort wise.... take it from there... Be sure to take into account the dealer support, that's key in my books. Personally, the Coast dealer making false/misleading statements about their competitors would have me seriously questioning their integrity. Good luck in your search.
  14. Unfortunately, destroying it is your only option. I am faced with the same scenerio myself. My 1995 spa is in a sunroom and I have no way of getting it out. I spoke to the sunroom company, they want approx $3300 to disassemble part of the room then reassemble it. That cost is certainly more than I can expect to get for a 14 year old hot tub. Right now, the sunroom doesn't leak, it's been absolutely perfect. If we undo it, there is no guarantee that it won't leak after. For those reasons, I have decided that destroying my tub is the best way to go. I'll put the spa pack on Kijiji, it may be of use to someone... I'm putting a new Jacuzzi outside...so I'll forget about my old tub soon enough
  15. Wannago, post some pictures when you get the 480... sounds like a great unit. I'm getting my deck reinforced and electrical upgrade done, hope to be soaking in my 470 by the end of Sept.
  16. The Certa is in Sundances 770 series. In order to fairly compare between the two manufacturers, the 770 SD Series compares to Jacuzzi's 300 Series, while the SD 880 Series is comparable to the Jacuzzi 400 series. The equivalent to the J465 in the SD 880 series is the Altamar. I had been torn between SD and Jacuzzi for several months but just last week decided on Jacuzzi 470 (the lounge was not important to me). Deciding factor for me was the dealer support, the local Jacuzzi dealer is great...just a notch up from Sundance dealer. In your market it may be the other way around...I don't know. Wet test them if you can, that may make the decision real easy for you. But like Wannago said, take a look at the full Jacuzzi 400 line-up don't limit yourself to the 465. There really isn't a huge difference in price between models.
  17. The Arctic dealer in Winnipeg, Manitoba has one on display, told me it's one of the first few built. It's BIG... same perimeter insulation as their spas, etc. Looks to be well thought out and well built....
  18. $5500 is way too high for an 8 year old spa. If you're gonna spend that much, I'd spend the extra to get into something new (or demo, etc). I agree, $2500 or $3000 would be fair. Beachcomber makes a good spa, no worries there. You gotta decide how much you want to spend I guess.
  19. Hi Cathy & Roger, I had a Sunrise spa delivered on Canada Day 1995, so it just turned 14 years old. It's been a great tub. I've had no serious issues with it. I replaced the bearings in the pump a few years ago and about half the jets (they're easy and cheap to replace yourself). I take pretty good care of my tub and in return it's treated me great. I'm still on the original heater element in fact. I'm now thinking about upgrading my tub (not because there's anything wrong with it) just looking for a new layout, and a few more jets. Looks like I'll probably go with either Jacuzzi or Sundance though because there are two strong dealers in Manitoba. The dealer I originally purchased from is now selling Master Spas (not Sunrise). Anyway, my experience with Sunrise has been excellent. If you're close to a reputable dealer (and the factory is a bonus too) then I would have no hesitation, it's a solid choice, no worries....
  20. krisb, I just bought a Cameo Sundance Spa and it cost me 14,100 (CAD) fully loaded with Stereo. I checked around and it was comparable to the higher end spas (Hot Springs fully loaded). Maybe I paid to much but I guess I'm stuck with the price now. I take delivery in a couple of weeks. I'd be interested in what anybody has to say about the Sundance Cameo and if they have had problems or if they like their choice. I just came across this forum (would have been nice to have found it before purchase). What I have read is the Sundance and Hot Springs Spas are the upper end, therefore I hope that means they are a good choice. C Cameo, have you received your tub? How do you like it? Any regrets?
  21. I stumbled across this while searching Kijiji. Not sure if it's what your looking for but... http://winnipeg.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-t...QAdIdZ136305757
  22. Kevin, I don't know much about premium leisure brands, but other members of this forum do. Try doing a search of this forum and I suspect you'll find discussion on them. Being that you're in Ontario, have you looked at the Sunrise Spas? I've had one for 14+ years now, it has been absolutely great! I'm looking to upgrade now (just for something new, more jets, and to put it outside...). Unfortunately, we don't have a Sunrise dealer here anymore, but I would certainly look at them. I expect their pricing will be better than a Sundance.
  23. The Optima is going for around $12,400 in Manitoba, without stereo, GFI, steps, taxes extra. I'm having a really tough time deciding between the Sundance Optima and the Jacuzzi 470. Unfortunately, the Jacuzzi dealer here is the also the Hot Springs dealer. They don't have one HS tub in their building, but they say they're good and they could sell me/order me one. Sure, I'll buy one completely sight unseen...NOT! What are you getting for pricing in Ontario?
  24. Hi Krisb, Price in Manitoba is $12,397 CAD (no stereo). Have you had any luck finding a better price?
