It's not two sub panels, but two BREAKERS inside of one subpanel. I'm guessing that's what you meant. To be honest, I dont' know why they have this setup, but since the dealer provided the panel with the two breakers for free...I didn't worry about it. I'm sure somebody here has the answer though.....so I'll bump it again for ya. Yes I meant breakers.

Any Hot Spring owners here?

Today I wet tested a Hot Spring Aria and liked it a lot. However, I have one concern regarding the jet pump 2 system lever. The lever can spin around 360 degrees, and it clicks in the 3 o'clock position and the 9 o'clock position. When I was in the tub, the dealer was turning it as I sat in different seats, as if to turn on the jets for that seat. Does this mean that there is no way to turn on all the jets at the same time? I plan on getting a Grandee so that I can hold six people at the same time. Will everyone not be able to get jets on their back at the same time? Thanks for your help, Kevin

very true, heat rises if you take off a hat ur wearing u can easily cool off Heat rises yes, but heat radiats to cold. If you have little insulation and a great cover you will loose it elswhere. also very true

I'm obviously not Gary but I'm pretty sure the only difference is the size and where they are commonly positioned. A Marquis dealer told me that Marquis doesn't believe in rotating jets, pulsating jets, etc. He said that most people think they want pulsating jets but after their purchase they realize don't enjoy them as much as they thought they would. He also stated that non-pulsating jets give a deeper, better massage than pulsating jets. Hope it helps, Kevin

I went and looked at the Hot Springs Vanguard model and I will admit I was quite impressed. I actually decided to go with the Optima from Sundance. Did some wet testing on both models and I honestly felt I was making the right choice with either. Ultimately it felt like the Optima was hitting the right places and putting out a little more power where the Vanguard seem to be concentrating more on the spine. The deciding factor was the salesman at the Sundance store. I told both sales people that I was deciding between these two tubs and purchasing one that day. Right away the woman at the Hot Springs was telling me the Vanguard was supperior to the Optima in so many ways but she obviously didnt know much about the Optima when I started asking what she didnt like about it. First thing she said was the energy use was much greater on the Optima which I dont believe is true. The salesman at the Sundance store was a former employee of Hot Springs and never talked negative about the Vanguard model. He said I honestly wouldnt go wrong on either buy. He immediately talked me away from the Master Spa just like some of you did in here. In the end I am now a proud owner of a Optima and I cant wait until delivery. Cost was just over 10k with all the extras including radio with 3 years of interest free payments. The energy use on the Optima is greater, but not much greater.

The HotSpring Aria is a very similar spa. The HotSpring Envoy is also very similar, but a small step up.

I am the SAME way and can turn the simple idea of getting a new toaster into a hunt, as my wife can attest. In the spa world, I can name 8 or so spa brands that I feel you'll be happy with (some may wet test better than others based on your height/body type and your particular taste) but you can't say that about the dealers necessarily. If you wet test and come down to a couple brands and you're sweating it out over whether to go with Hot Spring, Sundance, Dimension One or Marquis I'm just saying that assuming all those dealers are good there will be no need to play Monday morning QB down the line, they're all good options. Go with your gut and realize that with those 4 choices it's not like you're on Let's Make a Deal and there's a Mercedes behind one curtain and a mule behind another!!! LOL I bought a $17 toaster on sale and within the first week of owning it set two Pop-Tarts on fire. This was because the built in timer turns two minutes into ten minutes, so I started using a kitchen timer instead of the built-in timer and it works fine now. I think you need to just realize that maybe there isn't just ONE right spa for you. You could get a Arctic, artesian, Caldera, D1, Hot Spring, Jacuzzi, Marquis, Sundance etc. and proably be perfectly happy with most any of those. Certainly there are some you might not be happy with but I think you're waiting for the moment when you see the right spa and the heavens open. Go wet test the more reputable brands in your area and go with your gut as to which one you like best for wahtever reason (feels best, best dealer, shinyest jets, cutest saleslady, free duckies, etc.). I have a history of buyer's remorse. A spa, a place to relax, is the one purchase that I will not allow myself to regret!!!

Can anyone tell me the approximate monthly electrical cost for the Hotsprings Grandee and the Sundance Optima? I know the cost will vary with useage, but I am trying to get a general idea to help make a decision. Thanks for your help.

In preparation for getting a spa, I have installed a 60A breaker sub-panel approximately 6 feet from where I intend to put the spa. I talked to a Sundance dealer who told me that the Optima spa requires only 3 wires into a 60A breaker. Then I talked to a Hotsprings dealer who told me that their Grandee spa comes with a sub-panel, which includes a 20A breaker and a 30A breaker. The pump wires hook up to one breaker and the heater wires connect to the other breaker. If I decide on a Hotsprings spa, then I will need to swap out the sub-panel that I spent considerable time installing. Or I could install the new sub-panel in series with my current sub-panel, but then I'd have two "ugly" boxes in my yard. Can anyone confirm whether the Hotsprings Grandee requires two breakers (20A & 30A) or will the 60A breaker be sufficient by itself? Thanks.

When we were out spa shopping we went to four dealers, HotSpring, Sundance, Dimension One, and Marquis. We had gone to HotSpring and Sundance first and we didn't pay much attention to whether the jets pulsate or not. When we got to Marquis, the dealer said that Marquis spas do not use pulsating jets. Doesn't ozone, 03, transform in 02, like 20 seconds after its released? One of the dealers I visited said something like that.

$10,000 for the Optima and $8,000 for the Chelsee are about the same prices in my area. I've wet tested both of these two spas and they're both great spas. They're jets are very powerful, and if you sit in the therapy seat in the Optima and put the jets and air at maximun it will literally push you out into the middle of the spa. I actually like the lighting and the water feature on the Chelsee more than the Optima. The Chelsee is definitely smaller than the Optima, but they both will fit 6-7. The Optima also has better foot jets. Hope it helps, Kevin
