Tubber McGee Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 After researching tubs- reading the posts on this site for past months - reading about energy use and my recent post regarding value of a tub $. I really think the major reason I want to purchase a tub is the following: My wife and I are both very busy! (as I am sure most people are) I work at a College and commute 2 hours per day - My wife is an ER nurse and works 12 hours shifts - we have 3 children under the age of 11. Its seems like we are always pulled in different directions. Seems like my wife and I pass each at the door between work - running kids everywhere and our few hobbies..... My neighbor was out of town a few months back and told us to use his hot tub! In the week our neighbor was gone, my wife and I would put our kids to bed and go soak! Although the soaking was nice! The best part was my wife and I just talking! kinda of forced to talk - we talked about our day - the kids and it just seemed like we were doing something that we no longer have time to do! Don't get me wrong, our marriage is good! but it was just nice! Then on the weekend, we got in with the kids and got to hear all about their week and how things are going! Nice family time! So..i really dont need a tub for my sore back, health benefits, aching muscles. To me, it would be nice to relax, enjoy the hot water, and TALK! No television - no music - no traffic! To me - THIS makes the overall cost of owning a tub worth it! Quote

There is an obvious cost to owning a spa. A hot tub is for a preson who really needs it OR who really wants it (and can afford it of course). Only you know if that is you and yo seem to have come to that conclusion. Quote

I appreciate this about our tub so far. There is something very simple about just looking at the moon and stars and talking with your spouse and/or kids. Although, I do kinda want to wire up outdoor speakers, though my wife is on the fence about it. Quote
