sdriv Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Just got my tub up and running(2 days) and so far it seems as if there is a 3 degree difference between my set temp and and the actual temp. For instance if I have it set on 98 degrees the reading on the display and the extra thermometer I have in there read 101 degrees. So I know the theremostat is correct (plus I just installed a new one as well as the hi-limit sensor) Do you all think this is kind of normal or could there be something else I should check into? By the way this was a used Sundance Optima from a family member that had it from new. Thanks Quote
Jake the dog man Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 It seems to be so on most. Mine actually reads 5degrees lower then what water actually is. I know 3 other friends and all theirs are similar. That being said, that does leave room for problems. Years back, when I was between tubs, my sisters fairly new tub, was set at 104 but it slowly got hotter & hotter. She hadn't been using it, but I was using it doing some rehab on my arm. I kept telling her the tub was getting too hot, but she kept saying the people said it would always run hotter then set. It wasn't until I took over a meat thermometer and it read 135degrees that she got them to come out and replace the heating unit. She also got a written guarantee just in case the extra heat might make the acrylic bubble. Quote

It would be nice if the control circuit boards were fabricated with a trim pot so the thermisters could be trimmed to read accurately. Quote
Dnepr Dave Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 My spa's temperature display shows two degrees warmer than actual temperature, its consistent at all temperatures too. I haven't looked for an adjustment on the circuit board, there's no mention of an adjustment in the owner's manual. Dave Quote
