I have heard the horror stories and dont want that to happen to me. Has anyone dealt with FreePoolQuotes.com - Where Pool Builders Compete for you! D Close Posted June 18, 2008 Report Share Posted June 18, 2008 :Good Evening, Here's the deal, most of these pool quotes deals are just brokers here's how it works. I am looking to buy a pool i hit one of these websites for the company saying well we prescreen all the companeis before we hook them up with you. Do you really think they are doing this for free? Well heck no two different ways they get paid most of them ask the builder to pay for the lead which usaually cost anywhere from 35.00 to 1500.00 or i have even seen it they want a percentage of the deal like 5-7 percent. The biggest thing that should really alarm you if they are paying all this money to see you who in the real deal is paying for this? HELLO YOU ARE. Now don't get me wrong it's a catch 22 because there are alot and when i say this alot of bad pool companies out there so here's what you need to do to protect you and your family. Visit with 3 builders and go see 3 of there pools and make sure you check with the city permits to make sure they built the pool. If any of those builders try to talk you out of looking at there work you my friend need to see additional companies. Once you feel comfortable with who your talking with and have seen there work and also made sure it's really there work then my friend you still have a little more work to do now you must make sure there is nothing missing on your contract. If you were to ask me Doug what is the most problems on pools its the salesmen drawing more deck on the plan then what he is actually sell you on the contract. Hope i shed some light.
