-_- What would cause the wires from the heater to the circuit board on a 2006 Sundance Palermo - (Which there are 3 of them - 1 white, 1 Black and 1 Green) the white one connecting to K8 on the circuit board 6600-088 part no. - has been burned completely off!! It was not like this before we had it wired up for power by a certified electrican B) ..

240V/55AMP service was installed - and the wires were connected into the Control Box (power only) 6ga - The spa was filled with water - and the jets/pumps were all tested by them (Electrican) who does all of the Sundance Spa installations in our area - Everything seemed to be working ok - SPA started heating up - but only made it to 90 in 2 days. I turned the circuit breaker off - and after doing some research - and knowing that the spa was working - to check the wire coming into the Control Box on the front of the spa (as they connected the power/wires to this) - in doing that! this is where I discovered the burned wire (white)- What would have caused this??? ;)

Does ANYONE know  what would cause the HEATER UNIT on this unit to short out! and the white wire to burn completely off of the Circuit board? After having someone who knows something about electrical components look at this - connecting a meter to the wires on the heater - White and Black - which with a meter showed a direct short in it? This heater has an internal reset - what does that mean - is this something (reset) that I can do or check.

It's a Laing 'Infinity' Brand Heater, Laing part # 6698. Low-flow 240Volt, 5.5 Kw, 23 Amp with internal reset. Used in Jacuzzi and Sundance spas '02 and up(part#6500-402) as well as others. Loop is 11" high and 22" long.

Any feedback would be GREATLY APPRECIATED>> As it stands right now - it looks like the circuit board was damaged and will need to be replaced - in addition to the heater unit. What would have caused the heater to fail???

Take your question over to www.rhtubs.com forum. There are a couple of techs there who are very familiar with Sundance products and give an endless amount of detailed help.

Bad connection. If the circuit board is not damaged, you can just crimp new connectors on the wires and the tub will be fine.
