Sundance Spa 2006 Palermo

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a used Sundance Spa (2006 Palermo) from a private party - It's in excellent shape - and well taken care of. The asking price was fair from what I could tell of my research - so I did not haggle on the price.

I had it professionally moved/relocate to our home - some 75 miles away - and had it professionally hooked up. They filled it and started the unit - all checked out ok - and it's been 48 hrs - and the temp is only 88 - cannot get it to go any higher! The heater light comes on - and the jet pump #1 works on low speed - Still will not heat up!

I've turned off the spa - then shut off the circuit breaker (50 AMP) - waited 5 minutes and then turned the circuit breaker on! the spa goes thru the normal power! and the spa panel gives the following reading! The software reading 356 / control panel displays 888 and then the temp of 88.

All looks to start working ok - the heater light stays lit - however after 20mins it goes out - and then I cannot get it back on? as I've got the temp set/requested @ 100 - so the spa heater should stay running until it reaches this temp? correct

Not sure what's happening? or what I'm doing wrong - The water is clean - with no air in the lines or filter -as we had the guys who connected it up for power do all of this -as well as start it. They indicated it would take about 4 hrs - however it's still not working - -_-

Please help!!! I live in Cypress, California and do not want to get taken for more money - as I've spent lots thus far! :(

Follow-up on Findings

After no luck in getting the spa to heat up past 90 / I called and spoke to Sundance on possible problems with the spa being in one of the F0 thru F6 modes, They said that if the spa was shut off at the circuit breaker - and turned back on! the spa would go thru normal check out on power up - 356 / 888 / and the temp - the default temp is 100 - so the heater would turn on - and the spa would run until it reached 100 - then it would start on the default mode setting of F3 from there on.

The spa worked perfectly from the person we purchased it from - as we went over and inspected it running and connected to power. The unit was disconnected from the circuit breaker - and also from the control box inside of the spa - This was done by a professional SPA MOVER - When we had the unit moved to our home - we had a certified electrician that does installations for a Spa Dealership that sells Sundance - do the installation - 240V / 55AMP service. We had to inform them that the spa had been disconnected from the control box also. So - it was connected by them..

Now - after reading some of the information on connecting the spa inside of the control box - 2006 Sundance Palermo - Could it be possible to wire this WRONG or INCORRECTLY??? The reason I asked this - is that upon further inspection - removing the front panel of the SPA - and then removing the cover off of the CONTROL BOX - in doing this! I smelled something burnt! - upon further inspection - I noticed that one wire had burned completely off of the circuit board! and in looking at it - it's the one that goes to the heater on the circuit board (6600-088) K-8 on the wiring diagram - the black wire is fine - however the other wire is burned completely off (White Wire) which is with the Black wire and a Green wire / ground wire I assume?

What would have caused this??? All I can think of is that it's connected incorrectly on the control box?
