How Do I Bleed The Pump System?

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a new home with an Elite Platinum hot tub.

I turned off the power at the breaker, drained and then refilled the tub.

When I turned the power back on, pump 2 surges on and then off repeatedly.

I'm pretty sure that I need to bleed the system, but I have no idea where to start.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Did you fill the tub from the filter housing? Is the water way above the upper intake so no air can be drawn in? It the motor going on and off or is it just the water flow?`

I'm not sure about your spa, but on mine there are bleeder screws on top of the pump and filter. It should be a pretty large screw, probably metal, and located right on top of the wider part of the pump. With the jets running on low, back the screw out a bit until you hear the hiss of escaping air. Once that turns to water, tighten the screw. You may need to repeat a few times, and sometimes switching from high to low jets will push some more air out
