Hot Tub Quote (tiger River)

Has anyone used the hot tub quote service listed at the top of the forum page at spasearch.org. I went to their site, filled out a bunch of information but couldn't actually figure out how to request a quote. I am leaning towards a Tiger River Caspian and am trying to understand what a fair price is ( central texas.)

I got one of those (Caspian) just a few weeks ago - there are several prices posted here for it, price does tend to vary based on region. Most prices on the left coast (CA-WA) are in the 8k range with step/ozone/cover/lifter/subpanel delivered on your prepped site, with some starter chems, but not including electrical hookup, for a new 07 ordered to your color specs from the factory (vs one off their floor.) I have seen prices here posted as low as 6.5k, but I have no idea if that's off the floor/06/whatever.

I shopped around, looked at Jacuzzi, Sundance, and a couple others, all the same size, 07s, and really all in the same general price point.

If you have several options, check em all out. Find a good dealer. Find a tub you like to sit in. In our case the Caspian won on the wet test, and after running the thing in my backyard for a couple weeks, I sure don't regret it. Easy to care for, comfortable to use, quiet!, pretty, and a darn fine soak.

John. thanks. I've wet tested Sundance and D1 as well as Hot Springs/Tiger River. All were quite nice, but overall I think I lean to the Caspian. The dealer is very nice and helpful but I'm trying to figure out what a fair price is. He's quoting about 8700 for a brand new model, about a 1000 less for a floor model. Sounds a bit high compared to some of the posts I've seen. I think someone in MN said 6800. Even if thats a floor model, its still about a K less than what I've been quoted.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your tub and are happy with your decision.

I'd still would like to hear from anyone who has had success with the quote service advertised at the top of this forum. Or for that matter, anyone who has purchased a Caspian in Texas in the last year if you could share what you paid.

I owned a Tiger River Caspian and for the money I felt it was a great tub. I paid 7K for it in 05 (New England). Price included cover, lifter, steps, Ozoninator and delivery.

I thin 8700 is too high for the caspain. I'd expect a brand new unit outfittted as above to be about 7500.

Wet test the Capsian. Some taller folks have found it was a bit shallow for them.

But at the right price, this is a great tub and would recomened it. At the price quoted, I be expecting more of a Vanguard, or take a look at the Sundance Chelsee too. If you like the Watkins line, also check out Caldera. They have tubs in a similliar price range.

I was able to get mine down to about $7800 including an upgrade on the cover lifter, but at that point I started meeting strong price resistance. Bay Area, CA prices (where everything is inflated) might apply. You would think TX prices would not be as high, so I agree 8700 sounds like the "sticker price" and I'd push back a bit.

John, thanks again. Just made a deal on a new caspian for around what you paid. Should have it in about 4 weeks. We're pretty excited, actually like the Caspian better than the slightly larger D1 and Sundance that we tested. Also thanks too the folks that mentioned possible sales tax rebates. I've been seeing a chiropractor for my back, and apparently if I get a letter from her that the spa would be therapuetic, TX will rebate back my sales tax, a not insignificant savings.
