Florida DIY pre-construction survey. Advice?

Recommended Posts

Building my own pool. Permit approved. Next: pre construction survey…

Next stages: pre construction inspection, then I have an inspection when the hole is dug, rebar and main drain installed. Then one more when I’m done. I’ll likely post more as I go along, but right now I need to get prepared for the pre-construction inspection. This isn’t done by my assigned inspector, some other jobber is gonna do it. I just want to pass.

1) So, I need a silt barrier and a tree barrier. I can not find any resources. So, I’m not sure exactly where this silt barrier needs to go. Like, how far out from where the pool is going and areas where work will be active. My backyard is fenced in. Again, just want to pass this inspection.

2) What other pitfalls are there with a pre-construction survey? I am not sure what they are looking for me and the inspector assigned to my job was like “we assume you know”. Again, this is just to pass my pre-inspection survey at this time.

No one responded so I will respond. The pre construction survey, which I passed, was mostly checking that the trees were barricaded with orange fencing (not silt fence) and that any pruning and trimming was done. Silt fence was NOT NEEDED because I have a privacy fence already. Since inspections are free and next-day, he suggested that it’s always easier to expect to fail the first one and get told what needs to be done.
