JR110
Hi all! Our hot tub cover is now rounding 6 years old and the foam is completely broken from our two large dogs jumping on it (our hot tub is sunken in our deck so they have easy access to it). It is beyond time for a replacement. I was initially looking at aluminum covers, but the cost has me balking and there is extremely minimal clearance on one side of our tub as it is right up against the deck railing. Now I’m considering “walk on” vinyl covers. Does anyone have any experience with these types of covers? Are they truly “walk on” and will they withstand large dogs (80 lbs and 40 lbs) jumping on them? Or am I better off biting the bullet and getting the aluminum cover? The three I’ve been considering are the Sumo Cover from Spa Cover Spot (claims to support up to 1000 lbs and has aluminum sheets glued to the foam), the Extreme Walk On cover by Florida Spa Covers (claims to support up to 800 lbs) and the walk on cover by Affordable Spa Covers (this one seems to be almost identical to the one by Florida Spa Covers, but is $100 less). I appreciate any advice/recommendations!
