Adding Bleach And Running Jets With Air

Recommended Posts

Bleach isn't that great of an idea, although it will keep your water clear it will slowly degrade your spa plumbing such as gaskets and jet housings. Just my 2 cents

As for running it with the air on, I would leave them off, not a big deal but this is outside air and can always carry contaminants such as dust and pollen.

The key is not to use bleach alone since that will have too high an active chlorine (hypochlorous acid) level. The idea is to build up the Cyanuric Acid (CYA) level first, most easily done by using Dichlor initially before switching to bleach. With CYA in the water, chlorine's strength is significantly moderated so will not harm spa components.
