louislinus
Just changed our water and here's what I've got: PH - 7.4 Bromine - 9 TA - 90 CH - 50!! Eek!! How do you increase CH?
Parrick
Calcium Hardness Increaser (Calcium Chloride) available at any pool supply store. Use the Pool Calculator www.poolcalculator.com to determine the amount needed.
Specks
Let me preface this post by saying we've only had a tub a few weeks so I am extremely new to all this, but your bromine level seems way too high. According to the Taylor testing manual that comes with the kit home use can be 2-4 ppm while public use is in the 4-6 ppm range. You may want to look at lowering your bromine level. If I am incorrect about this hopefully others will correct me but it appears you need to lower your bromine level.
chem geek
Yes, a bromine level of 9 ppm is somewhat high but not horribly high. Don't forget that the units of measurement for bromine are 2.25x higher than for chlorine. So it's equivalent to around 4 ppm FC, though has no CYA to moderate its strength.
