Scalawagy
Hi, I'm wondering if any one has experience using white vinegar to lower PH? My wife is very sensitive to chemicals and I'm thinking it would be less harsh than other acids. thanks in advance, Ken
chem geek
Not a good idea. Also, a strong acid is completely irrelevant with regard to irritation because when diluted in water it is no different than a weak acid and is even more "pure" (vinegar is acetic acid so adds organics that chlorine reacts with). It takes less quantity of a stronger acid so the product of amount you add and its concentration will be the same regardless of the acid that you use.
