Quick Question On Testing Method

I have a Taylor dpd test kit and, of course, I am using Bromine.

I am trying to get my new pentair floater set properly, and I was wondering, when you test for bromine should you read the results immediately or let it sit for a minute? Seems if I read it right after I flip the tester a couple times, I get a reading of about 2. If I let it sit for a minute or two, it seems to increase a bit, not much, but a little.

Yes, you are using a DPD test which is "compare color to a standard" and not the FAS-DPD test which is "count the drops". With DPD, you don't wait and instead thoroughly mix and then compare. Usually, waiting is an issue with the DPD chlorine test since high monochloramine levels can "bleed through" and measure as FC if you wait. The bromine test measures Total Bromine since even monobromamine (by being in equilibrium with monobromammonium ion which may form Br+) reacts with DPD dye.
