kiddypool
18x33x54 aluminum/resin Wilbar pool to be installed partially in-ground with a deep end...starting today! In speaking last week with the dealer from whom we purchased the pool (internet dealer, we bought our last pool from them too and have felt really great about their pricing), I got really nervous (again)...he went on a little rant about how difficult oval pools are to install and how he doesn't know if it's a diy thing... We are huge diyers from way back with construction backgrounds, btw. But even if we weren't, there are no pool installers around here, and even if they were I'm not sure after reading many horror stories if I'd trust an inexperienced installer with my pool. We are big on attention to detail. Of course this isn't the first time we've heard this about oval pools, but we chose it because it's the best fit for our yard and our needs. Can anyone here tell me what it is, EXACTLY,that is so much more difficult? Is it that you need to be that much more careful to be precise, since you can't rely on the inherent strength of the round shape to back up the structural integrity of the installation? Everyone says it is so much more difficult, but no one says why...Is it just the extra steps required for the buttresses, straps, and pressure plates? WHAAATTTT?!!!
