Eq4bits Posted May 12, 2012 Report Share Posted May 12, 2012 2002 Hot Springs Landmark (Model S) - SQ1D1095 Freshwater III High-Output Ozone Purification System - OVA-1C-1796 I 'inherited' this spa with the purchase of my home in April 2010. Previous owner left all paperwork from purchase and installation of spa in Jan. 2002, installation of the Freshwater III System, and replacement of heater in 2006, along with myriad of notes in his scrawly handwriting. While that paperwork, the owners manual, and what I can read of his notes has been helpful I have pretty much been skimming along (since for an official Hot Springs Tech to just *come* here is a $300+ charge - the dealer is over 2 hours drive time (one way) from here). I recently drained, cleaned, and refilled the spa and aside from heating problems (I've already ordered a new heater, both control & hi-limit thermostors, and heater relay board - thanks to info garnered at this forum ) everything seemed to be fine. Well, until I read here in another topic about 'bubbles' from the return register/drain in bottom of spa indicating the Ozone thing is properly working. I don't have 'bubbles', I have what I refer to as 'waves'. I disconnected the Ozone System from the control panel, removed the neoprene tube from bottom of System and put it in 16 oz glass of vinegar and ran spa until all the vinegar was gone (per paperwork for System in the file); turned spa off, reconnected tube, plugged system back into Control Panel, returned power to spa. There are still no bubbles, just stronger 'waves'. Is it supposed to be 'bubbly' like champagne or are the 'waves' what I'm supposed to be seeing? Or does absence of actual bubbly bubbles mean I need to disconnect and clean the injector itself? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Eq4bits Posted May 12, 2012 Author Report Share Posted May 12, 2012 Cleaned the injector with vinegar and cotton swabs until 'sucking' noise heard and lots of bubbly bubbles could be seen coming from drain/return register. Replaced plastic nut onto injector and bubbling stopped; however, when I 'play' with the tubing (from above plastic nut to check valve) the bubbles start up. Still no bubbles so I've ordered a new check valve and tubing. I'm not really sure if the thing is actually running =S Can this be done with a multi-meter?
