BeachBoy
Some background: have previous experience with 24' round above-ground pool, bought foreclosed home, and obtained my first in-ground pool. The in-ground pool is 18' x 36' in size, 3' to 8' in depth, and step entrance. The filter pressure runs about 10 psi. If I remember correctly, the psi was about 40 psi on my previous above-ground pool. My in-ground did have a bottom drain but a previous owner had in removed. Now the pool has one skimmer. My question is: what is your pool pump pressure and what is your pool size?
pulleyman123
The pressure depends on alot of factors. If you start with a clean filter, that is what your pressure should be at. The pressure will be different from system to system based upon the plumbing sizes, amount of head, etc. If your filter is clean, that is where your pressure should be at. yanks1
Beachboy... I'm usually in same range (8-10 PSI) with in-ground pool with 25k gallons. We have an Anthony DE Filter (52 sq ft)& 1.5 HP pump. Enjoy the pool and good luck

rlott
I get 10 psi with a clean filter and 20 with a dirty filter. 2" piping with a Jandy Stealth pump.
