Hotspring Ace Question / Black Particles

Hello everybody,

I'm new to this forum and I live in Germany.

A year ago we purchased our first hot tub: a new Hotspring Envoy with an ACE-system. We're so far really satisfied with the pool and the handling of the ACE-system for us (as an unexperienced user) is quite simple.

But now s.th. has happened what I'm wondering about and so I'm posting here:

We had to replace the first ACE-cartridge after maybe 1/2 year, because it stopped working. Chlorine decreased very quickly and the water got foamy and unusable - we had to change water completely and got a new cartridge out of guarantee. A few days before we had noticed that there were black particles in the water, maybe 2-3 mm²and looking as parts of black bathing cloth fabric. Now (again 1/2 year later and with the new cartridge) I have noticed the same particles again and when cleaning the catridge we found a lot of them within the cartridge shell. I'm checking the water daily and it still seems ok (chlorine level, ph, etc....) - but I'm a little bit worried.

Does anybody else has ever seen or found these particles, too? Was the breakdown of the cartridge afterwards just coincidence?

We will also try contact Hotspring for further information, but maybe somebody does know.....

Hopefully everybody does understand, what I tried to write and express - I did my best to try it in English....

regards

Ralf
