Coast Spas Millenium

Year of manufacture?

Right, that is what I am looking for is the years that Coast manufactured this particular tub. I am looking to buy a used one from a local dealer, and they told me they were not sure the year it was manufactured, but that they believe it was either 2005 or 2007. If you click on the link below, you can see a picture of the tub model under "Coast Spas", but I am having a hard time finding any info on it.

Thanks so much for any info on this model.

it should also be on the date plate, inside the pump compartment... hav e you looked at the guts to see what kind of shape they are in

That is the weird part -- there is no date on the plate. The guts are nice, and most of the tub is new/replaced. The place that is selling it (they are a company that refurbishes tubs that get turned over to the banks) has replaced all jets, maintenance on the pumps (two 7hp each), new heating element, new control panel, and new skirt. They want $4500 for the tub (told me that it orignally went for $12-14k). The tub would come with chemicals, steps, delivery/install, and a 1 year parts/labor warranty. Tub seems to work great, and I figure a 1 year warranty on a used tub is not a bad idea. Is this a good deal?

Be aware that if you purchase this tub, it is very likely since the guts may not be original to that brand that a home electrical inspector may not sign off on the installation, because the components do not match the UL tag on the spa, if it is there at all.

FYI, there is no such thing as a 7 HP spa pump, if you want to know the real HP of the pump, get the amperage reading off the tag and use an online Amp to horsepower conversion website like

http://www.onlineconversion.com/motor_horsepower.htm

For example, a 10 amp motor, even at an unrealitic expectation of 100% efficiency and 240 volts you won't even make 3-1/4 hp let alone 7.

Pardon me if I smell a rat.

I bought an used Coast Spas. Its a 2001, and the year, and other important info is on the name plate.

If there is no name plate currently, at some point it was removed in the past. That's kind of sketchy to remove an important mfg label like that.

It's also sketchy the company doesn't know what year it is, and has a tub with no name plate.
