k13trina
We live in Northern NY and had massive amounts of rain last week. Being that it is starting to get cold here we decided to clean and drain the spa before winter. We have a "retro golden harvest shower" so we didn't notice that our town water has a brown color after all the heavy rain. We filled it once noticed the discoloration, drained it and filled it a second time. That's when we decided to fill the regular white tub and noticed it was the water not and an issue with the spa. We can't really leave it empty as its getting down in the 30's at night. I've started to balance the water but it still appears "rusty". Any ideas as to how to rid the water of the sediments causing the water to discolor?
Dnepr Dave
It' probably just sediment in the city water. Fill the tub through a filter. I bought a large whole house GE filter from Home Depot for less than $100, it's good for a few fills. That'll take out the big chunks. Any discoloration left will go away when you add your Dichlor, give it a day to clear up. Dave
Hillbilly Hot Tub
Since the tub is all ready filled, I would suggest getting a metal remover to add to the water, then clean your filters out a few days later.
