I think UV alongside ozone can be a great system but you will still have to maintain a level of sanitizer (chlorine/bromine) and yes a UV lamp will not last forever i think most last around 18 months. I wouldnt buy a spa just because it did or didnt have this feature but i suppose its a nice add on for the simple reason you can cut reduce chemcal usage with either of these features. imnay Posted June 16, 2009 Report Share Posted June 16, 2009 We wouldn't have a spa without an ozone generator. Our experience is our spa is a LOT easier to maintain with the ozonator. Yes, you do need a low level of sanitizer like chlorine to keep the sanitized water stable but ozone does sanitize - to us, having this little gadget in our spa allows us to travel or otherwise leave the spa untended for days without a care and when we return and open the cover it's pristine and waiting for us.
