  1. i looked a long time and found that the hydropool hottub was a decent price and was serviceable as it is made in ontario. bobm '
  2. that site didnt say anything about which lifter was the easiest to use. to me that would be a very important factor on buying one ..as these covers get heavy sooner or later.. bobm
  3. no they are an actual manufacturer, hydropool industries..with dealers all around the world
  4. try hydropool ,beachcomber or artic they know the climate
  5. i have done many months of research on tubs and found the hydropool to be the best for your money.funny no one recomends them here..
  6. thank your government for free trade....
  7. i think so also, one thing i had a hard time figuring out was the size, not even so much how many people you want in at the same time.but being able to move around in it ,say arms and legs .i found the smaller ones were better on price, but on the cramped side.for getting a bit of exercise on the arms and legs
  8. i called a hot tub mfg and they think that the insulation will keep moisture around which will cause its own problems.mold, insects etc.
  9. thanks for all the replies,i have exhausted myself over the last 2 months ,wet tests etc and have made a decision on getting the hydropool 725... its down to which dealership will give me the best price.and service. i will definetly be around after buying to share my thoughts on this whole process of buying and looking..
  10. hydropool pushes water through a filter and they say the filter lasts up to 2 years sundance uses the nature 2 system which they say is the best for least amount of chemicals used and the 2 stage filter lasts up to 8 months d1 says their system is the best.... one says full foam insulation is best the other says trapped air is best. sundance says their jets are better as there is no moving parts and dont need to be replaced as often. it seems to go on and on with claims..even the warranties,d1 says 5 years on the plumbing but on the website shows the ozone plumbing exempt ..2 years.. i am starting to lean more on the side of hydropool right now. just that they seem to be a smaller company, as there is not alot of talk about them on the forums.. and thats where there is good info on hot tubs..
  11. I dug the base 5" then put in 4" of crushed lime stone leveled and tamped it down with a gas powered tamper The tub is now sitting on top of the insulation and as far as i can tell the insulation has not compressed one bit I did expect it to compress some when i filled the tub but so far it hasnt If your standing beside the tub you cant even hear the circ pump running I have a neighbor next door with a tub and i can hear his jet pump over mine when standing next to my tub Next month when he does the quarterly empty and maint ritual he is going to put the insulation between his tub and concrete slab MM mm... what type of hot tub did you buy? as i definetly want a quiet running tub when i buy one. so you have the insulation on the screenings instead of patio stones? does it soak up water from snow and rain?
  12. i have read from many owners that the hotsprings tub tend to have a lot of leakage issues also bullfrogs warranty is said to be better.
  13. i was wondering if you could put the insulation on the screenings then the slabs on top of the insulation, but i guess the noise might still be the same? how deep are you going to dig your base?
  14. i wasnt aware are of all those good points about bullfrog, hmmm maybe i will check them out. not many dealers around here in ontario though.
  15. i was wondering if this system is a good one for hot tubs. as i have heard that they burn out alot.and who wants that extra expense and hassle.
