I was thinking about bringing it to 150ppm but my water is very stable the way it is...what do you think??? bring it up or leave it alone? chem geek Posted May 23, 2009 Report Share Posted May 23, 2009 For a hot tub, the main reason to have the Calcium Hardness (CH) higher at around 150 ppm is to reduce foaming. There also may be some better protection against corrosion, though that is controversial. Use The Pool Calculator to calculate the saturation index -- don't forget to include temperature and target a slightly negative index (-0.1 or -0.2).
